14th Annual HymnFest

St. Andrew the Apostle Parish

We are very excited to announce that plans for the 2022 Community Hymn Festival (our 14th) are underway. This year’s theme will be “Abundant Praise.” The date set for the Hymn Fest is Sunday, November 6 at 2pm at St. Andrew the Apostle Church.

Once again Reynaldo Romo will direct the choir and congregation, and Lars Andersen and Billie Hayes will join us on the Pipe Organ and Piano. You are all invited to be part of the Hymn Fest Choir. We generally perform two anthems, and help lead the congregation. The committee is still in the process of selecting the choir anthems and congregation hymns so if you have suggestions for music that fits this theme, please let us know.

As in the past, we will schedule rehearsals on the two Saturdays before the concert – Saturday, October 29 and Saturday, November 5 at 10am at St. Andrew’s.

We will be sending out updates on the anthem song selections as we firm up those choices.  PLEASE feel free to pass this information along to your friends, fellow choir members or other music lovers, who might be interested in joining the choir so we can add them to the email list.

If you have questions, you can contact me by email or at 520-456-5555, Maryann

St. Andrews organ is a III/30 Möller built in 1949 and moved from Racine, Wisconsin and installed in 2008.

A new console controller (Peterson) system and a few other alterations to the organ are in progress.  Grahame Davis is performing that work.
