Dr. Pamela Decker, Professor of Organ/Music Theory at the University of Arizona and Director of Music/Organist at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior in Green Valley, will present a recital as the “2019 European Tour Program Preview” in two different locations.

The program will include works by Johann Gottfried Walther, Georg Muffat, Johann Sebastian Bach, Dan Locklair, Percy Whitlock, and Pamela Decker.  This program will be different from the one that was presented recently (March 31) as a faculty recital on the UA campus, but there will be some overlap.  One of the primary changes is that the summer preview program will spotlight several movements of The Seven Last Words and Triumph of Christ, her AGO-commissioned work that was world premiered by Douglas Cleveland at the 2018 AGO National Convention in Kansas City;  this commission was issued as a “prize” in conjunction with her having been named AGO Distinguished Composer for 2018.

The two recitals will take place on the following dates:

Sunday, May 19, at 3:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior, 555 S. La Canada Drive, Green Valley, AZ  85614.

Tuesday, June 4, at 7:00 p.m. at Holsclaw Hall at the Fred Fox School of Music on the campus of the University of Arizona.
